Every employee who is required or entitled to become a member of PF shall be asked at the earliest by the employer to furnish and shall, on such demand, furnish, for communication to the Commissioner, particulars concerning self and nominee.

Family for nomination purpose is defined as:

• in the case of a male member, his wife, children (married or unmarried), dependent parents, and his deceased son’s widow and children.
• in the case of a female member, her husband, children (married or unmarried), dependent parents, her husband’s dependent parents, and her deceased sons’s widow and children.
• wife in the case of male member of the Employees’ Pension Fund.
• husband in the case of a female member of the Employees’ Pension fund.
• sons and daughters of a member of the Employees Pension fund. This shall include legally adopted children by the member.
