The Telangana State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Act, 1987 (commonly know as Profession Tax Act) came into force with effect from 15.06.1987 with the object of levying tax on professions, trades, callings and employments. It extends to the whole state of Telangana.

Short title and commencement
These rules may be called the Telangana Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Rules, 1987.
They shall come into force on the 15th day of June, 1987.
