The Kerala Labour Welfare Fund Rules is an act to provide for the constitution of a fund for promoting the welfare of labour and for certain other matters connected herewith in the State of Kerala.
Preamble.- WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the constitution of a fund for promoting the welfare of labour and for certain other matters connected therewith in the State of Kerala ;
BE it enacted in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Short title, extent and commencement -
(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1975.
(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may by notification in the Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different areas of the State.

The Kerala Labour Welfare Fund Rules is an act to provide for the constitution of a fund for promoting the welfare of labour and for certain other matters connected therewith in the State of Kerala.
Other than the Kerala Labour Welfare Fund Act, The Government of Kerala, also formed, Shops and Commercial Establishments Workers Welfare Fund Board, aiming the well-being and relief of self employed as well as the employees who comes under the Kerala shops and Commercial Establishment Act of 1960.It also focuses on awarding pension to these employees and thereby ensuring their welfare. This programme came to being vide G.O (M.S) No 29/2007 employment (S.R.O No 235/2007) on March 15, 2007.
Employees in the age group of 18 to 55, who is self employed or those employees who works in the shops that comes under the Kerala shops and Commercial Establishment Act of 1960, can become members of this welfare fund board.
