Draft of Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions (Gujarat) Rules, 2021

The Draft Rules of Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Gujarat) Rules, 2021 has been notified in the gazette on 25 May 2021.

Applicability

The Draft Rules upon coming into force shall extend to whole State of Gujarat, shall apply to all factories/establishment/building or other construction work relating to any establishment in relation to which appropriate Government is the State Government under the Code, and shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

The Draft Rules upon coming into force shall repeal:

• The Gujarat Factories Rules; 1963;
• The Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Services) Rules, 2003;
• The Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1965;
• The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972;
• The Beedi and Cigar Workers (Service Conditions) (Gujarat) Rules 1972;
• The Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963;
• The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Gujarat) Rules, 1981
