EPFO circular to avail ELI benefits

The Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme is an initiative by the Indian government to boost employment and provide financial support to both employees and employers. To avail the benefits of this scheme, employees must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link their Aadhaar to their bank accounts.

Steps to Activate UAN:

1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal: Navigate to the EPFO Member Portal.
2. Initiate UAN Activation: On the homepage, locate the "Important Links" section and click on "Activate UAN".
3. Provide Required Details: Enter your UAN, Aadhaar number, name (as per Aadhaar), date of birth, and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
4. Consent for Aadhaar Verification: Agree to Aadhaar OTP verification by checking the appropriate box.
5. Obtain Authorization PIN:Click on "Get Authorization PIN" to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-registered mobile number.
6. Complete Activation: Enter the OTP and submit to finalize the UAN activation. A password will be sent to your registered mobile number upon successful activation.

Linking Aadhaar with Bank Account:

Visit Your Bank Branch or Use Online Services: Provide your Aadhaar number to link it with your bank account. This linkage is essential for receiving benefits through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the ELI scheme.

ELI Scheme Benefits:

• Scheme A: First-time employees registered with EPFO receive a one-month wage (up to ₹15,000) in three installments.
• Scheme B: Incentives for job creation in manufacturing, benefiting both employees and employers based on EPFO contributions during the first four years of employment.
• Scheme C: Support to employers by reimbursing up to ₹3,000 per month for two years towards their EPFO contribution for each additional employee with a salary of up to ₹1 lakh per month.

Ensure that both UAN activation and Aadhaar-bank account linking are completed promptly to fully benefit from the ELI scheme.
