Are you doing all it takes to build a diverse and inclusive workforce? Then, consider these five tips offered by an expert and guest speaker at our greytInsights conversation.
Think beyond gender: Diversity is not only about being gender neutral and adding more women to the workplace. Ensure that you consider other unrepresented groups based on culture, color, and language, to name a few. Think about everyone.
DEI creates a good ROI: DEI is not just a good-to-have program. But it’s a must-have initiative. If you have an inclusive and open culture, people stay longer. So it's a win-win situation for both of you.
Don’t forget to measure: Whenever you host a workshop or launch a new policy, don’t forget to do the math. Also, keep track of how many employees are staying and how many are leaving. You’ll then know the impact of your DEI strategy.
Don’t stop at one workshop: Don't remain content after conducting one of those common/mandatory workshops. Continue the diversity conversation at multiple internal meetings and town halls.
Nobody is too small for DEI: No organization is too small. Whether you are a 20, 50 or 100-person company, there's always something that you can do. Size and stage of growth don’t really matter for DEI.
