Shops And Establishment Permitted To Remain Open 7 Days In A Week - WB

Government of West Bengal in exercise of power conferred by Section 4(2) of West Bengal Shops And Establishments Act 1963, has granted exemption to all classes of shops and establishments situated in whole of West Bengal from operations of provisions of Section 5(1)(a). Under this notification government has allowed the shops and establishment situated within the state of West Bengal to remain open for all seven days a week in public interest without affecting the rights and interests of the workers subject to certain conditions as mentioned in the notification. The Individual employer intending to avail of this exemption will have to apply to the government seeking permission to grant of such exemption along with details of documents as listed in the notification.
